    Job Overview

    We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our company.

    The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and reliability of rotating equipment, including gas turbines, compressors, fans, pumps, generators, and their auxiliary systems at the gas compression station. The role includes planning and performing preventive and corrective maintenance, monitoring equipment conditions (vibration, lubrication, and performance), managing shutdowns, turnarounds, and overhauls, and overseeing spare parts, tools, and maintenance budgets.

    The position ensures that all rotating equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably, while meeting safety standards and controlling maintenance costs throughout the equipment lifecycle.

     Key Responsibilities

    • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot:
      • Gas turbine-driven centrifugal gas compressors
      • Gas turbine-driven electrical generators
      • Lube oil and process gas air coolers
      • Emergency diesel generators
      • Firefighting pumps and firefighting network
      • Air compressors, air dryers, and auxiliary systems
      • Centrifugal and positive displacement pumps
      • Static equipment including: Valves, Piping, Pressure Vessels, Tanks
    • Execute preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities on site
    • Monitor mechanical equipment performance and reliability
    • Preparation of maintenance plan, procedures, and checklists as per OEM standards.
    • Preparation of maintenance reports and technical documentation
    • Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with other departments and sections to optimize the utilization of section manpower
    • Works with the operation, commissioning, and OEMs teams during the installation, commissioning, and startup of all new equipment to ensure the integrity and reliability of all the mechanical assets associated with rotating/static equipment.
    • Provide technical support during the engineering phases for a new compressor station project, from conceptual design to detailed engineering, to ensure compliance with technical requirements and standards.

    Condition Monitoring & Reliability

    • Planning and performing all related rotating equipment condition monitoring programs, including:
      • Vibration analysis
      • Lubrication and oil analysis
    • Planning and performing all inspection programs for static equipment such as piping, tanks, and vessels as per related standards.
    • Review trends, identify early failure modes, and recommend corrective actions.
    • Support reliability improvement initiatives and root cause failure analysis (RCFA).

    Planning, Budgeting & Cost Control

    • Preparation and monitoring of annual maintenance budgets
    • Planning and scheduling of asset maintenance programs and inspections
    • Preparation of long-term maintenance and overhaul forecasts
    • Preparation of Asset Criticality Assessment (ACA) 

    Spare Parts & Inventory Management

    • Preparation of purchase requisitions for spare parts, tools, and services
    • Purchase orders follow-up from issuance till spare parts receiving.
    • Spare parts identification and criticality assessment
    • Monitoring spare parts usage and stock levels (min/max) to optimize the inventory for balancing of availability and cost.

    Shutdowns, Turnarounds & Overhauls

    • Planning for shutdowns, major overhauls, and turnaround maintenance activities
    • Coordination with OEMs, contractors, and internal teams

    Tools & Workforce Management

    • Tools management and supervision to ensure availability and compliance
    • Supervision of engineers/technicians and contractors during maintenance activities
    • Ensure proper use, calibration, and storage of tools and equipment

    Risk Assessment & Safety

    • Preparation and review of Risk Assessments (RA), prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the risk mitigation and controls.
    • Preparation of the Management of Change for any modification
    • Ensure compliance with:
      • HSE requirements
      • Permit to Work (PTW) system
      • Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
    • Promote a strong safety culture within the team

    Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering, operation, and maintenance of rotating/static equipment in the natural gas industry.
    • Experience in the installation and start-up of new projects in the natural gas industry.
    • Proven strong hands-on experience with rotating equipment, including major overhauls of gas turbines and centrifugal compressors.
    • Familiar with the international codes and standards (API, ASME, and ASTM).
    • Experience in condition monitoring programs, including vibration analysis and lubrication management.
    • Experience with static equipment inspection, including piping, tanks, and pressure vessels.
    • Proven experience with pipeline valves, filters, and pig traps, including maintenance, troubleshooting, and inspection.
    • Experience with CMMS software such as Oracle, SAP, eMaint, or similar.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD or SolidWorks for reviewing and interpreting mechanical drawings.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills, able to coordinate effectively with operations, maintenance, and contractors.
    • Knowledge of HSE procedures and safety practices, with a strong safety-focused mindset.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with attention to reliability and cost optimization.
