    Job Overview

    We are seeking Electrical Maintenance Engineers to join our company.

    The role requires strong electrical maintenance leadership, asset integrity expertise, and hands-on involvement across the full project lifecycle, including pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup.
    Successful candidates will act as technical authorities, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operation of electrical systems in hazardous, high-availability environments, while mentoring teams and supporting continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    As the successful candidate, you will be required to perform the following:

    Operations & Maintenance

    • Lead and optimize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities for electrical assets.
    • Act as technical authority for:
      • MV/LV switchgear operation, isolation, and interlocking
      • Power and distribution transformers
      • Gas turbine generators and auxiliaries, including:
      • Excitation systems & Frequency control system
      • Emergency Lube Oil systems, electrical component (e.g., BCH, DC motors, L.O. heaters)
      • PMS and Load Shedding System
      • Large synchronous generators and induction motors
      • Gas turbine–driven compressors, including:
        • Emergency Lube Oil systems' electrical component.
        • IMs’ VFD & Soft starters
        • Fuel Gas Heating system with thyristor control panel.
        • Emergency Diesel Generators with their corresponding control system.
        • Medium & low voltage motor starters and VFDs
        • UPS, battery chargers, DC systems, and batteries
        • Explosion-proof and hazardous-area electrical equipment
        • Electrical SCADA, PLC, and classical control systems
        • Pipelines and tanks Cathodic Protection systems
        • HVAC systems and their components (Central and Split)
        • Earthing and lightning systems design and maintenance
        • NGR system
    • Perform and supervise:
      • MV/LV switchgear isolation and switching activities
      • Protection relay testing, programming, and troubleshooting
      • Verification of relay coordination and selectivity
    • Condition Monitoring & Reliability
    • Planning and performing electrical asset integrity through condition monitoring and testing, failure trend analysis & lifecycle assessments, and identification and mitigation of integrity risks.
      • Lead complex troubleshooting, equipment failure investigations, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) with permanent corrective actions.
      • Manage and perform MOC audits across maintenance departments with all related procedures as per company policy.
      • New Projects Support
      • Participate in project’s design reviews, constructability assessments, and specification development.
      • Prepare, review, and validate:
        • Electrical equipment specifications, data sheets, & Single-line diagrams
        • Protection and metering schemes
        • Motor schematics and protection philosophies
        • Hazardous area classification drawings
        • Substation automation architecture
        • Synchronizing and bus changeover schemes
    • Perform or review electrical engineering calculations, including:
      • Grounding and earthing systems
      • Battery and charger sizing
      • Transformer sizing
      • Cable sizing and voltage drop
      • Electrical load schedules
    • Review and support electrical power system studies, such as:
      • Short-circuit analysis
      • Load flow analysis
      • Motor starting studies
      • Arc flash hazard studies
      • Protection coordination and relay settings
    • Lead and support field installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and startup activities with proven experience in Brownfields and Greenfields as well.
      • Shutdowns, Turnarounds & Overhauls
      • Act as the electrical focal point during shutdowns, plant upsets, and emergencies.
      • Manage SIMOPS operation during shutdown preparations.
      • Interface with operations, instrumentation, mechanical teams, OEMs, EPC contractors, and service providers.
    • Planning, Budgeting & Cost Control
      • Preparation and monitoring of annual maintenance budgets
      • Planning and scheduling of asset maintenance programs and inspections
      • Preparation of long-term maintenance and overhaul forecasts
      • Preparation of Asset Criticality Assessment (ACA)
    • Spare Parts & Inventory Management
      • Preparation of purchase requisitions for spare parts, tools, and services
      • Purchase orders follow-up from issuance till spare parts receiving.
      • Spare parts identification and criticality assessment
      • Monitoring spare parts usage and stock levels (min/max) to optimize the inventory for balancing of availability and cost

    Tools & Workforce Management

    • Tools management and supervision to ensure availability and compliance.
    • Supervision of the engineer.

    Risk Assessment & Safety

    •  Preparation and review of Risk Assessments (RA), prepare recommendations and guidelines to address the risk mitigation and controls.
    • Ensure compliance with:
      • HSE requirements
      • Permit to Work (PTW) system 
      • Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedures
    • Promote a strong safety culture within the team

       

    Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in Electrical Engineering in the natural gas industry
    • Experience in the installation and start-up of new projects in the natural gas industry.
    • Strong working knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, API, NEC, and NACE standards.
    • Proven experience with specifications and data sheets for:
      • Power transformers.
      • Large synchronous and induction motors.
      • MV/LV switchgear and control gear.
      • MV/LV cables and bus ducts.
      • U PS, battery chargers, NGRs, and panel boards.
      • HVAC systems.
      • Earthing system design & installation.
    • Demonstrated experience in:
      • MV/LV switchgear operation and isolation procedures.
      • Protection relays testing, programming, and troubleshooting
      • Generator protection and coordination
      • Parallel generator operation and synchronizing protections
      • Motor maintenance, testing, and protection techniques
      • VFD and motor starter troubleshooting
      • Relay coordination and selectivity
      • Emergency Diesel Generators.
    • Strong working knowledge of NFPA, ANSI, IEEE, IEC, API, NEC, and NACE standards.
    • Hands-on experience in:
      • Electrical equipment installation.
      • Project pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and startup with proven experience in Brownfields and Greenfields.
    • Experience in preparation and review of:
      • Electrical equipment layouts
      • Plant cable routing layouts
      • Lighting and grounding layouts
    • Proven experience in electrical asset integrity management.
    • Ability to conduct failure analysis and issue technical recommendations.
